Tommy James & The Shondells

Thirty years in any business is a long time, but thirty years in show business, especially the music business, is a milestone only a handfull of artists have experienced. Tommy James has now become the latest member of this elite group. His music is heard in, literally, every major city of the world. And with global record sales of well over 100 million copies to date, he's one of the "most listened to" artists of all time!
Tommy's songs have been recorded by everyone from Billy Idol to the Boston Pops, with over 300 major cover releases by artists worldwide, including Joan Jett, Tiffany, the Rubinoos, John Wesley Harding, Neil Diamond, and the Monkees to name just a few. At one point in 1987, Tiffany and Billy Idol battled it out an entire month for the top spot on the charts with covers of "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Mony Mony" each hitting #1. That's the first time in history that covers of two songs by the same artist went #1 back to back.
Hollywood has taken to Tommy's vast catalog as well with appearances of his classic hits in more than a dozen major film releases over the past decade, including Oliver Stone's 1993 film "Heaven and Earth"(Mony Mony), Martin Scorceses' 1990 classic remake of "Cape Fear"(I Think We're Alone Now), the Academy Award winning "Forrest Gump" (Hanky Panky), Ted Danson's "Pontiac Moon"(Crimson and Clover), HBO's "Off and Running" starring Cyndi Lauper (Crimson and Clover), and "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" featured Tommy's classic "Draggin' the Line."
In thirty years Tommy has left an indelible mark on his industry and his generation. To celebrate this momentous anniversary he has recorded what's already been called the "Most Exciting Album of His Career" -- TOMMY JAMES GREATEST HITS LIVE!! -- Recorded in front of his fans at NYC's original rock Mecca, The Bitter End. This historical concert album has just been released on Tommy's own nattionally-distributed label AURA RECORDS, and is undoubtedly one of his best ever.
